Welcome to the Whalers Youth Hockey Association

The Whalers is a youth ice hockey organization for boys and girls from locations in Middlesex County and other surrounding towns in the Middletown & Cromwell, CT area. We offer instructional (Learn To Play & House League) and competitive levels of play for children from four years of age through high school.

Our "home ice" is at Champions Skating Center in Cromwell, CT.   We are members of the Connecticut Hockey Conference, CT Valley Midget Hockey League and USA HOCKEY. Our Tier II, III, and IV level Travel Teams play games with similar teams from other organizations around the state and occasionally travel to other locations throughout the region for tournament competition.

Season Wrap up and Tournaments

Whaler Nation,

Congratulations to the PeeWee B and Squirt B teams for making it to the finals on Sunday. Both teams played hard to the end and never gave up. Thanks to all the parents and coaches who supported the athletes and were there for them throughout this season. The PeeWee’s lost to the Norwalk Rough Riders A-1 team. The Squirt B team lost to the Ridgefield team 2-1 in a heartbreaking overtime game.

In addition, our Mite teams participated in Jamborees, including one held in Cromwell that included the Mite B Black team, wrapping up their seasons. Thank you to all of the Mite Parents who helped with the Score Clock and Boards for the State Mite Jamboree held in Cromwell.  It was a great tournament and well received by all.

Congratulations to all of the Mite teams for their participation and well played games during the Jamborees. Thanks to all the parents and coaches who supported the Mites throughout the season. Your efforts on and off the ice are greatly appreciated.

We would like to remind everyone that there are 4 more Whaler teams playing in tournaments. The Whaler Squirt A and PeeWee A teams play this weekend and the Bantam A and B teams play next weekend. The Squirt A team will be playing in Avon and we will be hosting the PeeWee tournament this week starting on Thursday (March 8th) and throughout the weekend. The Bantam A & B schedules should be out shortly.

If anyone would like to Volunteer we could use people to run the clock and keep the score sheets. If you are interested in helping, please contact Pete Gerardi at . We will also need help for the Bantam A tournament which will start next Wednesday (March 14th) and run thru Sunday. That tournament will run 25 games in 5 days.

If you cannot help with the tournaments and can catch a game at one of the other venues please go out and support the Whalers.

Any support that you can give for both tournaments will be greatly appreciated. These tournaments are great for the players and help promote the Whalers Youth Hockey Program.

Good Luck to all teams,

Go Whalers!
